Thousands Protest Guilty Verdict in Coup Trial in Turkey

Thousands of Turks protested outside of the courthouse in Silivri, after two hundred and fifty-eight people were found guilty of plotting a coup.

Seventeen of those, including military officers, a journalist, and a politician, were given life sentences.

The government compiled more than four million pages of documents, as part of it's investigation.

However, many Turks believe that the charges and trial were politically motivated, not based on fact.

They accuse the government of staging the whole thing in order to remove political enemies.
