With winds nearing two hundred miles per hour the seven hundred mile wide storm has several nations making emergency preparations.
Usagi is forecast to move between Taiwan and the Philippines, through the Luzon Strait, brush against Hong Kong and strike southern China.
Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Taiwan will all see very strong winds and torrential rain fall, up to an inch an hour for the duration of the storm.
Hundreds have been evacuated from low lying areas in Taiwan, while residents in the Philippines have been warned to be ready for flooding.
By the time it hits China, Usagi is expected to have dropped down to winds around one hundred miles per hour.
