Terrorists Explode Bombs at Indian Holy Site

Terrorists exploded nine bombs at India's holiest Buddhist shrine, on Sunday.

Two people were injured in the explosions at the Bodhgaya temple complex, in Bihar.

The blasts caused minor damage to buildings, but did not scathe the holy Bodhi tree.

According to legend, the Bodhi tree is a descendant of the tree that Buddha was sitting under when he received enlightenment.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

8 People Treated for Rabies After Kitten Attack

Eight people were treated for rabies in Larimer County, Colorado, on Saturday.

All eight were bitten by a rabid kitten.

Authorities were forced to put down the animal.

They were unsure where it contracted the disease.

As a precaution the family's other animals were all vaccinated.

Their animals have also been quarantined for ninety days, to ensure they do not have rabies.

2 Killed 181 Injured in San Francisco Plane Crash

Two people were killed and one hundred and eighty-one injured when an Asiana Airlines 777 crashed at San Francisco International Airport, Saturday afternoon.

Three hundred and seven people were aboard the flight from Seoul, South Korea.

When the aircraft landed, it's tail hit the runway, breaking off and causing a fire in the plane.

Passengers had to slide down chutes to escape the burning aircraft.

Emergency vehicles rushed to the scene and were able to put out the flames before some of the plane was engulfed.

For several hours the entire airport was shut down, with flights being diverted to as far away as Denver.

The NTSB is investigating the incident, as well as the FBI.

Quebec Train Crash and Explosion Kills at Least 1 With Dozens Still Missing

Minutes after 01:00 EDT Saturday a train crashed, derailed, and exploded in Lac-Megantic, Quebec.

The accident happened in the middle of town, near the bars packed with the Friday night crowd.

When the train derailed, several cars carrying oil broke open and exploded as sparks reach their load.

The resulting explosion flattened several blocks of the town, killing one and injuring dozens.

Dozens more are still missing, as of Saturday night.

Nearly two thousand people were evacuated from their homes, as fears of more explosions, fire, and toxic smoke gripped the town.

The Canadian Transportation Safety Board is investigating trying to determine what caused the train to lose control.

Popocatepetl Covers Mexico City in Ash

Residents of Mexico City woke up to a covering of ash, Saturday morning.

Popocatepetl has been erupting for the past few days.

The volcano has been throwing up lava and ash since then, with Friday night having the highest levels of activity.

At times ash was thrown around two miles into the air.

Areas around the volcano were ordered evacuated as a precaution, but other than the ash no damage has been done to the surrounding areas.

Some flights in and out of Mexico City's airport have been canceled due to concerns of planes flying in the ash.

Boko Haram Kill 30 in Attack on School

Members of Boko Haram attacked a school in Mamudo, Nigeria, before dawn on Saturday.

They opened fire on the students and their teachers, then burned the building.

Twenty-nine children and one of the teachers were killed.

Witnesses say that dozens of students fled to safety, some wounded, some of whom have not been seen since the shooting.

Schools and churches are a favorite target of the Boko Haram terrorist network.

Thousands Protest in Istanbul

Thousands of protesters swarmed into Taksim Square and Gezi Park, in Istanbul, on Saturday.

They clashed with police throwing rocks and bottles at them.

The police responded with tear gas and water cannons.

Saturday protests and clashes have become a weekly thing for the Turks in Istanbul.

Lahore Bomb Kills 3 Injures 38

Three people were killed and thirty-eight injured when a blow exploded in Lahore, Pakistan.

The bomb struck a busy market as shoppers were stocking up for Ramadan.

Officials are unsure when or how the bomb was planted.

Authorities are blaming the Taliban for the attack.

6.4 Quake Shakes Indonesia

A 6.4 earthquake struck off the coast of the Mentawai Islands, on Saturday.

Other parts of Indonesia felt the quake, causing fear in many areas.

Residents fled into the streets and ran for high ground, as a precaution.

However no damage or injuries were reported, nor was a tsunami caused.

US Army: Private First Class Errol D. A. Milliard

Private First Class Errol D. A. Milliard, eighteen of Birmingham, Alabama, died on July 4.

He was killed by a rocket propelled grenade in Farah province, Afghanistan.

It was his first deployment.

Milliard was assigned to the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade out of White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.

His decorations include: Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, NATO Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, a posthumous Purple Heart, and a posthumous Bronze Star.
