Peacekeepers Attacked in Darfur

Four Nigerian soldier were killed and eight injured when their peacekeeping vehicle came under attack in Darfur, Tuesday night.

Peacekeeper's returned fire, but it is unclear if they hit any of their ambushers, during the short attack.

The attack was launched barely a mile from the peacekeeper's regional headquarters.

Sudan was called upon to "hunt down" those responsible by the commander of the mission, Lieutenant General Patrick Nyamvumba.

Yesterday's deaths bring the total, of peacekeepers killed since the mission began five years ago, to forty-two.

The UN and the AU are working jointly on the peacekeeping force.
