Obama Proposes Waiting til August to Avoid January 1 Fiscal Cliff

President Obama's new plan to avoid the January fiscal cliff, is to wait until August, to do anything about it.

Unable to convince Republicans, or even all other Democrats, of the wisdom of his proposed plans, he is walking away from the negotiating table.

According to a White House statement, waiting until August 1, will allow the government to bring enough revenue that will somehow save Americans $1.2 trillion dollars, over the next year.

Part of Obama's plan includes reworking the tax code, in 2013, which the White House says will save $600 billion.

The White House does admit that waiting til August will cost an extra $80 billion.

However, if the fiscal cliff isn't avoided, on January 1, Americans will be paying more than an extra $1.6 trillion in taxes.

Obama and the White House had no response to Republicans asking about the difference in numbers, other than repeating the plan.

Mathematicians have looked at the plan and can not find where it actually saves money.
