In what might be a show of divisions between rebel forces and Al Qaeda, the target seemed to be a rebel headquarters.
A split between the groups could be good news for the Malian government.
It could mean the rebels would reunite with the government, to remove Al Qaeda, or it could simply mean a three way war.
