The plants in Albright, Rivesville, and Willow Island were shut down due to new environmental regulations put forth by the EPA.
A hundred and twenty people worked at the three plants.
FirstEnergy also announced that they will be closing six other plants in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
