More Americans Living With Their Parents

In ever increasing numbers, more and more people in the US are being forced to move back home. They're having to do so in order to make ends meet, the high cost of housing, or often because there just isn't work. Sometimes they were never able to make it out.

Nearly a quarter of Americans age twenty to thirty-four have been faced with such a situation. For those twenty-five to thirty-four it's closer to a third. Such numbers have never been seen before, in the United States. And things are even worse in Europe.

This has led to a decline in the birth rate, as many are delayed from serious relationships, afraid to admit they live at home. Those who are in committed relationships are more likely to put off having children, as they see no way to afford a third person in their homes.

Over the last few decades, the US has gone from a place where a single income was enough for a whole family, to somewhere that sees two incomes aren't often enough. Growing national debt leaves little hope in sight for recovery, or getting back out on their own.
