Some areas of the state have received ten inches of rain, since Tuesday, making this the wettest September on record.
Governor Susana Martinez has declared several counties to be disaster areas.
Residents have been forced to evacuate along the Rio Grande.
The Gallinas River is also in danger of over flowing it's banks, putting Las Vegas on warning.
Both Crownpoint and La Union have had their water sources contaminated, but the Red Cross is supplying them with bottled water.
Rains are expected to continue for at least the next several days.
