Sensor mats that determine if air bags need to deploy may fail.
If they stop working the airbag could deploy at any time.
The recall includes 2006-11 Grand Vitara SUVs and 2007-11 SX4s.
No injuries have been reported, due to this problem.
Dealers will inspect and if necessary replace the mats for free.
Owners will be notified, if they are part of the recall, sometime in October.
