Blue to Gold: ARMY Sgt. Thomas R Macpherson

ARMY Sgt. Thomas R Macpherson, twenty-six, of Long Beach, California, died October 12, in Andar District, Afghanistan.
 Sgt. Thomas MacPherson, twenty-six, was killed in a firefight Friday in the Ghanzni province of Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

MacPherson enlisted in the Army in 2007 after attending Los Alamitos High School. He was on his fourth deployment to Afghanistan and had also been deployed to Iraq.

MacPherson leaves behind his wife and son, both living in Tacoma, Washington.
