On Monday night, the city council, of Nelson, Georgia, voted unanimously to require the head of every household to own and carry a gun, and the ammo for it's use.
It does allow for exceptions to the rule, such as felons, religious beliefs, and mental or physical inability to carry one.
City officials say they decided upon plan, as the they only have one police officer, who works eight hours five days a week.
Other than that single officer, the town is dependent on two different
sets of county sheriff's, as the town lies on the border, who are far
away.
