2 Year Old Killed After Falling Into Pittsburgh Zoo Exhibit

A two year old child was killed Sunday at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium.

The child fell into the African painted dog exhibit, after his mother stood him on the railing, so he could see.

Zookeepers were able to get seven of the eleven dogs into their back up yard, but four more attacked the child, causing death.

In an attempt to protect the child, a Pittsburgh police officer shot and killed one of the dogs.

Both the zoo and police are investigating the incident, which has for now shut down the facility.
